We’re excited to share that our business has recently joined the a2 Milk Company family. Formerly known as Yashili Dairy NZ Ltd, we are now operating as a2 Nutritionals NZ Limited, based in Pokeno.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Operations and based at Pokeno, you will be responsible for leading and managing the execution of projects from a supply chain and operations perspective. Projects will include new product creation and development (NPD), supply chain network optimisation, manufacturing capability uplift, cost improvement initiatives and broader a2MC strategic programmes.

 

You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Planning, Procurement, Quality, R&D and Commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with quality and compliance requirements.

 

More specifically, you will be involved in:

  • Leading end-to-end project management for NPD launches including planning, risk management, stakeholder coordination and go-live execution
  • Driving supply chain optimisation initiatives including inventory management, S&OP alignment, network planning and cost reduction projects
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, RAID logs, budgets and executive reporting dashboards
  • Facilitating cross-functional workshops and ensuring alignment across manufacturing, logistics and commercial teams

 

About you: 

  • Minimum of 8+ years proven experience in OT/automation roles within dairy, food, pharma, or FMCG, with 3+ years leading teams
  • Strong expertise in PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES, historians, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet), with the ability to troubleshoot and optimise OT systems
  • Experience leading CAPEX, digital transformation, and continuous improvement projects from URS through qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders effectively
  • Exposure to industrial cybersecurity, IT/OT integration, and regulated manufacturing environments is highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualification in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or related discipline preferred

About the role:

Reporting to the Site General Manager and based in Pokeno, New Zealand, you will be accountable for the end-to-end operational leadership of our Infant Milk Formula manufacturing site. This includes leading manufacturing, engineering, and utilities functions to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient operations aligned to site and global supply chain priorities.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and ensuring reliable, high-quality production in a complex, highly regulated environment.

More specifically, you will be involved in:

  • Leading day-to-day manufacturing operations across spray drying, wet processing, blending, and high-speed canning/packing, delivering on production, quality, cost, and service targets. 
  • Driving operational excellence initiatives including OEE improvement, Lean manufacturing, TPM, waste reduction, and cost optimisation. 
  • Championing safety, food safety, and compliance, ensuring adherence to GMP, HACCP, RMP, and all regulatory requirements. 
  • Leading and developing a multi-shift workforce (190+ employees), building capability, leadership depth, and a strong performance culture. 
  • Overseeing engineering, maintenance, and asset reliability, including execution of capital projects (automation, capacity expansion, and safety upgrades). 
  • Managing critical utilities (steam, refrigeration, water treatment, compressed air, HVAC) to ensure operational reliability, efficiency, and compliance. 
  • Owning the operations budget (labour, maintenance, utilities, consumables) and delivering financial performance through disciplined cost management. 
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to enable successful operational execution and continuous improvement.

 

About you: 

  • 10+ years’ leadership experience in food, dairy, or infant formula manufacturing, with proven accountability for site or plant operations. 
  • Strong expertise in manufacturing operations, engineering, and utilities management within a complex processing environment. 
  • Deep understanding of food safety and regulatory frameworks (GMP, HACCP, RMP) and experience managing audits and compliance. 
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence (Lean, TPM, OEE improvement) and leading large-scale teams in a 24/7 environment. 
  • Proven people leadership capability, with experience building high-performing teams and leading through change. 
  • Strong financial acumen, including ownership of operational budgets and cost optimisation initiatives. 
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, or a related discipline (preferred). 
  • Experience in infant formula or highly regulated nutritional manufacturing and exposure to global/export markets will be highly regarded.

About the role:

As our Payroll Manager, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for a2 Nutritionals NZ Ltd, based in Pokeno.

 

This role is accountable for delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations, while also supporting compensation and benefits processes in line with NZ employment legislation. It offers a balance of hands-on payroll leadership, financial oversight, and the opportunity to contribute to broader People & Capability initiatives.

 

More specifically, you will be involved in:

  • End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Managing payroll queries and building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships (IRD, WINZ, MOJ)
  • Overseeing compensation and benefits calculations, including salary reviews, bonuses, and allowances
  • Preparing payroll journals, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and audit processes
  • Delivering payroll reporting, cost analysis, and insights to support budgeting and decision-making
  • Maintaining payroll processes, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing training and guidance to leaders on payroll processes and policies

 

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in payroll, ideally in a high-volume or complex environment
  • Strong knowledge of NZ payroll legislation, tax, and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end payroll with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Experience with payroll systems such as MYOB PayGlobal and exposure to ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics / Business Central)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial acumen
  • A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines

Our Opportunity

Reporting to the National Field Sales Manager this role plays a critical part in driving sales growth, market expansion and strong retail partnerships across our a2MC client base in growing NSW territory.  As an a2MC Territory Manager you will be the face of our premier brands, and responsible for growing strong relationships with our retail partners, expanding distribution and ensuring excellent in-store execution of the a2 Milk products.

More specifically you will be involved in:

  • Drive sales growth and distribution across your assigned territory
  • Build strong relationships with retail partners and independent grocers
  • Maximise in-store execution including shelf facings, placement and visibility
  • Identify new ranging, promotional and distribution opportunities
  • Analyse store performance data to optimise territory sales strategies

About You

You are an energetic and commercially driven FMCG field sales professional who enjoys being on the road, building relationships and driving results.

To succeed in this role you will bring:

  • Experience in FMCG sales, retail account management, customer-facing commercial roles, or Territory Management.
  • Strong experience managing retail store relationships
  • A track record of improving distribution, shelf space and sales performance
  • Confidence analysing sales data and identifying growth opportunities
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisation and route planning capability

Based in Auckland and reporting to the Supply Chain Planner, this newly created role is an exciting opportunity to join our Supply Chain team and play a critical role in supporting the smooth execution of supply chain operations.

 

As our Supply Chain Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and processing key supply chain transactions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring data integrity across our ERP systems. Working closely with Planning, Warehousing, Logistics, and external partners, you will help ensure products and materials move efficiently through our supply chain while supporting the accuracy of stock records and operational reporting.

 

More specifically, you will be involved in:

  • Creating and managing purchase orders, sales orders, work orders, and stock transfers within our ERP system.
  • Processing inbound receipts, outbound transactions, and order fulfilment activities accurately and on time.
  • Supporting inventory management through stock movements, material tracking, and reconciliation activities.
  • Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy across all locations.
  • Generating routine reports and maintaining documentation to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve transaction and order-related issues.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain processes and data accuracy.

 

About you: 

You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with systems, data, and processes. You take pride in accuracy and are comfortable managing high volumes of transactional activity in a fast-paced environment.

 

You will bring:

  • Experience in a supply chain, logistics, inventory, ERP administration, or coordination role.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and processing high volumes of transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Experience managing purchase orders, inventory transactions, stock movements, or order processing activities.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Experience within FMCG, dairy, manufacturing, or a related industry will be highly regarded.
